As I was drinking my coffee, I had the idea of trying out intermittent fasting since I really wasn’t hungry. I don’t know what time I finished eating last night and while I was interested, I couldn’t be bothered with looking up the different eating windows. Instead, I decided to push my walk back about an hour, till 8, and just prolong my first meal as long as I could.
I ended up walking for almost an hour and a half, getting in 3.58 miles. I was a little bit hungry as I started, but the further I walked, the less I started to notice it.
As for workout #2, I was originally planning on walking on the treadmill for 30 minutes to hit 13,000 steps; but as I was watching the 1st inning of the Mets vs Nationals game, before I even got on the treadmill, a part of me wanted to run. So, I ended up doing Week 8 Day 2 of C25K, which consisted of a 5 minute warmup and cool down with 28 minutes of jogging. I wanted to challenge myself a bit with speed so instead of doing 5.0-5.1 mph, I stuck with 5.3-5.4 during innings and 5.6 between innings. I completed my longest run since restarting my running journey, with 2.83 miles. I was so happy when I saw the distance, however, it’ll be interesting to see how I do when I’m not on the treadmill.
I ended up breaking my fast once I got home, at 9:30, with a protein coffee. All I did was blend up some ice, cold brew coffee, and a 1/2 of the ready to go, Vanilla Pure Protein drink. Then about 30 minutes after, I had 2 rice cakes with peanut butter and a banana.
As for dessert, because that’s a necessity for me, I had an ice cream sandwich, which I seriously haven’t had in forever. They were one of my favorite treats as a kid; and now I’m thinking I need to eat one during every DBacks game because after I finished it, they had the glorious 9 run 4th inning.
