Day 8: Project Reset

Before my workout, I was seriously contemplating buying pre-workout; even if it was the non-stimulant kind. It’s actually something I’m still thinking about.

Before the leg portion of today’s workout, I spent 30 minutes on the treadmill. Originally, my plan was to just walk the 30 minutes but, after 5 minutes of walking, I was feeling so good that I wanted to run. So, I ran/walked for 30 minutes. I didn’t run the entire time, or do something like 5 minutes of running/1 minute of walking. I ran when I wanted to and took breaks when things started to get difficult (i.e., when I got side cramps).

As for my leg workout, I followed a leg circuit from Madeline Moves. I actually did her workouts a couple of years ago, and was even subscribed to her app. If I wasn’t following Kelly Yager’s workout guides, she’d be my 2nd choice. I loved the workouts because it made me feel like an athlete, and I saw great results, and today’s workout was no different.

But holy crap was it a killer! I could feel my legs getting sore during the workout. The fact that what she posted was just an abbreviated version of the full workout, my gosh. I would highly recommend checking her out!

I also randomly did some arm exercises later on in the afternoon. I just did 3 sets of 5 of: bicep curls, reverse bicep curls, hammer curls, tricep kickbacks, single-to-double shoulder press, lateral-to-front raises; all using 1lb dumbbells. It felt good, no pain, no discomfort. Since next week marks 4 weeks since my fall, I’m thinking of doing an upper body workout from one of the Fit & Functional guides, just to see if I can do it. I’d only stick to 1lb-3lb dumbbells, and stop if there was any pain or discomfort.

As for my eating, I was in such a snacking mood today. Thankfully, I didn’t go too overboard with the snacks and I’m proud of my choices, like limiting my brownie intake to 2. At some point this weekend, I need to go to the store and meal prep because I’m running out of food, and that’s when I really start to mindlessly eat.
